Join us Wednesday July 15th at 7:30pm for a very special evening.

Some performances are meant for concert halls. Others are meant for rooms where every note can be heard.

This summer, Laguna Lab is opening its doors for a very special evening: a private salon performance with internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Jolie Holland and her longtime collaborator, pianist and composer Ben Boye.

Gathering in the spirit of the great listening rooms and house concerts, this intimate performance is an opportunity to experience extraordinary music in a setting that encourages presence, conversation, and genuine human connection.

This special evening also supports Laguna Lab's mission to build a lasting cultural home for artists, musicians, educators, and community in West Sonoma County.

About the Artists

For more than two decades, Jolie Holland has occupied a singular place in American music. Her work blends folk, jazz, blues, country, and experimental traditions into something entirely her own. Music that is poetic, adventurous, and deeply moving.

A founding member of The Be Good Tanyas, Holland has collaborated with artists including Tom Waits, Mavis Staples, Booker T. Jones, Marianne Faithfull, Marc Ribot, Michael Hurley, and Buck Meek. Tom Waits once described her songs as "a doorway into another world."

While she continues to perform internationally, Holland has increasingly returned to intimate listening environments inspired by the house concert tradition, where audiences and artists share the same room without distraction.

Joining her is acclaimed Chicago pianist and composer Ben Boye, whose remarkable career has included collaborations with Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Ty Segall, Mark Kozelek, Jim White, The Weather Station, and Natural Information Society. His sensitive, adventurous musicianship makes him one of the most sought-after collaborators in contemporary music.

Together, Holland and Boye create performances that move fluidly between song, improvisation, storytelling, and sonic exploration. No two evenings are alike.
